Why Write the things?
To share my learned lessons and acquired expertise as I navigate my way through various creative yet exacting pastimes.
The Short
I’m a technical writer by trade, a self-taught sewist (the gender-neutral term for an artist who expresses themselves through sewing), and a long-time lover of baked goods. In other words, I’m constantly in pursuit of the ability to craft whatever wacky idea my brain can dream up.
The Long
I started my post-college career as a project manager, then moved into corporate communications before finding my calling as a technical writer. Turning my love of the English language into a career that also leverages my empathy and curiosity about the world of technology has been an incredible journey.
Every day I am provided the opportunity to learn more about how tech powers every aspect of our lives, and then I face the exciting yet challenging task of translating what I’ve learned into easily-accessible, user-centered documentation.
As for baking? Well, it’s an activity I’ve enjoyed my entire adult life. My dad passed his sweet tooth on to me, and ever since I’ve been in the pursuit of the perfect desserts and bread. I experiment with flavors and textures to find new approaches to classic desserts while sharing my baked goods with others. You simply can’t beat a delicious, homemade gift!
Sewing is my most recently-developed hobby, but also one I’ve spent a considerable amount of time – and money – honing since 2021. After my dog and best friend of 14 years, Georgie, died, I threw myself into a sewing hole. I emerged from the other side with an entirely new skillset and a love of dreaming up endless, fabric-based possibilities.
Focusing specifically on crafting clothing and accessories, I’m fueled by a burning desire to make as much of my own wardrobe as possible. Stay tuned as I churn out clothing as well as tips and tricks I learn along the way.

“As a technical communicator, I am an enabler of information.”
